Happy lunar year of the rabbit!
It's hard to believe that we're already a month deep into 2023. Lucky as I am, I was sick π€ for a week (blame the bad food I had the only day I went out!). It took me a while to recover my strength and go back intro writing mode, but I'm back! πβοΈ
I have been working hard on the rewrite of the last book of the Amaranth series.π Meanwhile, the sequel North Star is in the proofreading stage, which means I can start thinking about the Kickstarter campaign for the exclusive launch.
The first campaign for Amaranth was a success. βοΈ We raised 1460$CAD (1100$USD) which is 146% of the initial target. I am currently completing the fulfillment with the fresh copies I received from the printer.
I would like to be more ambitious for the next campaign. I am thinking about more than tripling the original goal from the first campaign to 3500$CAD (2600$USD). π° But I think for that to happen, I need to entice my readers with something truly exciting.
*What tier rewards would you like to see for the next Kickstarter Campaign? Please reply to this email to let me know.*
Our community has grown significantly in the last few weeks. As I write these lines, my Instagram account has reached 1200 followers.

What I'm reading
I treated myself with some hardcover books. π€© Aren't they pretty?
Here are the books I am slowly reading right now:
1. Who Fears Death by Nnedi Okorafor
2. A Man With Two Names by Vincent Davis
3. Babel or the Necessity of Violence by R. F. Kuang
4. Elon Musk by Ashlee Vance

Book Promos!
As usual, I am partnering up with a few authors of science-fiction, dystopia and fantasy to expand our reach and offer a stack of free or discounted books. If you are looking for a new read, check those out by clicking on the banner or book cover.
What I'm watching
I have watched the Sandman, a truly amazing show! It is by far my favorite work from Neil Gaiman. The man has a gift for storytelling. I highly recommend you watch this Dark Fantasy and meet Morpheus of the Endless, the King of Dreams.
What are you watching? You can let me know by replying to this email.

Hello Reader! With spring drawing to a close, I've taken the opportunity to overhaul my newsletter. It will continue to appear monthly, but will now be published on Substack. You can click here to take a look at my page (under construction!). Every first of the month, you'll receive True North, an expanded version of my newsletter. It's a chance for me to talk about my projects in greater depth and to create a community. You can like, comment and share all articles, including the True North...
Hello Reader! *Have you read Flower of Memory or Amaranth? If so, I would appreciate it if you could leave an honest review on Amazon (just click on the title). I am planning on going wide and since I won't be benefitting from Kindle Unlimited's natural push, reviews will become ever so important. Thank you! This means a lot to me.* This past month I was busy helping other would-be authors prepare and write their own book π. I feel lucky to be able to take part in their book journey and I...
Hello Reader! I hope February was as productive for you as it was for me. π I completed the Kickstarter fulfillment with much more ease than I thought. Here you can see the letters of the Commander and some of the packages of the signed edition: I also finished the Kickstarter exclusive short story called Lion Hide, set in a completely different universe. I am considering keeping it exclusive for my patrons on a future Patreon. I am still thinking about my options, but I am definitely going...
